John T. Riedy

SANDUSKY — John T. Riedy, 67, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning, Dec. 1, 2019, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.Born Oct. 31, 1952, in Sandusky, he was the son of Joseph John and Eleanor Marie (Dych) Riedy. He was a 1972 graduate of Sandusky High School. For several years John had been employed by Ability Works, Inc.For years he loved going over to the Cedar Point Amusement Park, where he had been a longtime season pass holder. John was also a die-hard Sandusky High School Blue Streaks fan and would attend every and any type of sporting events that he could over the years, and for doing so he had been recognized by the Sandusky High School Blue Streaks Boosters Club as an inductee into the Hall of Fame for being their Number 1 Fan. He was also a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.John is survived by his brother, Allen Riedy of San Diego; two sisters, Marilyn (Ronald) Claise of Lexington, Ma., and Nancy Funk of Marietta, Ohio; and his nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.He was preceded in death by his parents.Visitation will be 8:30-9:45 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m., at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Chris Jesuhason officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Sandusky.The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Sts.
