Sandusky man shot twice in 2 months

SANDUSKY — A Sandusky man survived his second shooting in as many months.The 20-year-old victim suffered a gunshot to his leg Sunday after an unknown suspect allegedly pulled up in a vehicle in the 1300 block of Pierce St., near Camp Street, at about 10:40 p.m., and shot him, Sandusky police Detective Kevin Youskievicz said.The victim went to Firelands Regional Medical Center for treatment and has since been released, a hospital spokesperson said.No arrests were made Monday and no suspects have been identified, Youskievicz said.In the first incident, in an alley off Buchanan Street on Sept. 18, an unknown suspect shot the man in the shoulder, according to a Sandusky police report. Officers did not locate any evidence in the alley.The victim said he did not have any enemies and didn't know who shot him, a police report states.Nobody was arrested following the first shooting, Youskievicz said. At this point in their investigation, police don't have evidence that would suggest the two shootings are connected.Youskievicz said police, like the first incident, did not find evidence like shell casings at the scene. But witnesses reported hearing about four shots.Police don't yet know the motive for the shooting. Another report at the same location came Sunday night at about 8:46 p.m.911 callers reported another shooting Sunday night at about 7:38 p.m. at Buchanan and Carr streets, another Sandusky police report states.
