13-year-old charged with car theft

SANDUSKY — Police arrested a Sandusky boy on a felony Saturday after he allegedly stole his mother's car.The boy, 13, of Campbell Street, was charged with fourth-degree felony theft of a motor vehicle.The boy's mother contacted police at about 1 p.m. after she found her Buick missing, according to a Sandusky police report. She later told police her son was the one who allegedly stole it.The mother told police her son told her the general area of where he left the car, but would not tell her what he did with the keys, the report states. The boy told police he was responsible for taking the car and that he wouldn't tell anyone the exact location of the car or its keys.Police eventually found the car on Putnam Street and the mother accessed it with a spare set of keys, according to the report.
