Community mourns death of Abigail Bastien

SANDUSKY — Nearly 100 community members gathered at St. Mary's Catholic Church Thursday evening for a prayer service in memory of Abigail Bastien, a 2016 graduate of St. Mary's Central Catholic. Around 8 a.m. Thursday, police discovered Bastien's body outside on a street in Baltimore. The circumstances surrounding her death are still unknown at this time. "Everything happened so suddenly that there is so much we don't know," the church's new priest Fr. Jeff Walker said during the service. "The fact is that Abby is a beloved daughter of God."The community members clasped hands and bowed their heads in prayer for Bastien."Pray, cry, pray, laugh, pray," Walker said.
