Rampage lands Vermilion man in jail

VERMILION TWP. — After destroying his son's bedroom, a Vermilion man threw a piece of door framing at his wife, nearly striking her.Erie County sheriff's deputies arrested Jeffrey A. Shroyer, 28, for an incident taking place at his home, in the 2400 block of Ohio 60.At about 1:30 p.m. Sunday, authorities arrived at his home and spoke with Shroyer's wife, who claimed "he raised his hand with a closed fist and threatened to strike her," according to a related report.Shroyer went upstairs and began ripping doors off their hinges. He then entered his son's room, while the boy was in there, and damaged the area. When the woman went inside to retrieve their son, Shroyer hurled a broken off portion of door framing at her but missed.
