Monroeville resident and Firelands Regional Medical Center X-ray technologist Elizabeth Downing received a citizen’s award from Perkins police Lt. Chris Hilton Nov. 1 at the temporary Township Hall on Bogart Road.
Downing received the award after helping Perkins police Officer Timothy Alexander Sr. perform life-saving techniques on a man parked by the UAW Hall on Ohio 4.
Even though the man died, Perkins police officials wanted to recognize Downing for stopping her car and attempting to save the man’s life by performing CPR.

Just goes to show, there are good people out there. Great job Elizabeth! Even though that man isn't around to say it, I'm sure the family is thankful for your attempt to save his life.
Way to go Elizabeth Downing and Officer T. Alexander (Public Worker and Hero). Officer Alexander dont pay attention to the repubs on here like Pete, Goofus, Taxpayer that call us Police and FIre leaches, union thugs etc... Ofc Alexander you are nothing less than a hero and an assett to Perkins Twp. VOTE NO for Issue 2 - protect Ohio's protectors.
It is people like you Elizabeth that lets me know that there is still good in the world. A perrson willing to stop and help a stranger are truly heroes!
