A telephone line came down at the 2600 block of Columbus Avenue after an accident with a county dump truck.

The accident took place at 8:10 a.m. in the parking lot for  county government offices, said Jared Oliver, chief deputy for the Erie County Sheriff's Office.

A county employee had cleaned out the dump truck and accidently left the bucket up. When he attempted to leave the parking lot, he took down a telephone line that belongs to AT&T, Oliver said.

Phone service was interrupted for under 200 residents on King Avenue, he said. He said service was expected to be restored later Wednesday morning.
