A Sandusky man was jumped by two men early Wednesday morning near the South Shore Inn on Cleveland Road.

The 35-year-old Third Street man was riding his bike to work around 5 a.m. Wednesday when two men confronted him near Cleveland Road and Bauer Avenue, according to a Sandusky police report.

One of the men shouted “get him” while the second man knocked the victim off his bike, the report said.

When the men realized the bicyclist was carrying nothing of value, they took off down Bauer Avenue.

Two hotel employees confirmed the man's story, saying they saw the man get knocked off the bike by two assailants.

Witnesses described the pair as being in their late teens, black, about 6-foot tall and wearing dark clothing, the report said.

Officers searched the area, finding a man near the Pipe Street railroad tracks. He ran into a nearby woods, however, once he spotted a police cruiser.

A Bauer Avenue resident reported seeing the men in her backyard, and though officers found fresh foot prints, they were not able to locate the suspects, the report said.

"Witnesses described the pair as being in their late teens, black, about 6-foot tall and wearing dark clothing, the report said." There you go.

Bottom Line

I know the victim. He's one of the nicest, hardest working and most honest people you will ever meet. It's a shame what a hellhole Sandusky has become. And these cowards took off because the hotel employee shouted that she had called the cops.

To bad this guy didn't have "something special" for them so they couldn't run away after attacking him.
Hope he is doing better today.
