Drivers in Norwalk are advised to take alternate routes starting Monday as work begins to widen the intersection of Elm Street and Benedict Avenue (250).
In an announcement Friday, the city will redirect drivers on the intersection:
•Northbound 250 (Benedict): U.S. 20 east to Rte 18 West to Cleveland Road West to Schauss/Ontario/Republic northbound back to 250.
• Southbound drivers are to reverse the detour.
Vehicles will be allowed to pass through the Benedict/Elm intersection one lane at a time, which will cause delays.
People who live near that intersection are encouraged to use local routes, including Norwood and Linwood avenues, around this intersection, as Elm Street will be closed at Benedict Avenue.
The city does not indicate when the project will be completed. For more information, contact the city at 419-663-6707. Updates will also be available on the City of Norwalk's Facebook page.
