Kroger makes headway toward opening new store

Executives buy township land valued at $175K to build superstore

Perkins Township trustees and Kroger executives came to terms Monday afternoon on a deal making headway toward a super Kroger.

The store, scheduled to be located in the Perkins Plaza area on Columbus and West Perkins avenues, could open as soon as 2015.

Townshp trustees sold a little less than 1 acre for $175,000. Kroger executives are still negotaiting with tenants and the Perkins Plaza owners to buy more land there.
