Anyone looking forward to Boat Week will have their hopes dashed with this web update.

A statement released by Huron city manager Andy White states that Boat Week will not happen. Its organizer, Janie Vogel, apparently told the city the event wasn't financially feasible and demanded her money back.

This is the second time in as many years that Vogel's attempts to create a Boat Week have failed. She tried first in Port Clinton and then in Huron this summer.

Haha! The rich snobs of Huron can't afford their wannabe attempt at copying "The Dud" with Bike Week, but with a snootier, more attitude-ish way. Too bad rich people are so stingy.

Wow, the next time she tries to organize an event, maybe you shouldn't depend on it.  Two times in two years ?

They could at least have a Yuppy Parade for the disappointed Urinites expecting a gala, followed by a white elephant sale. Huron wouldn't have it any other color.
