Huron City Council may pull the plug on Lake Erie Boat Week because the event's insurance policy doesn't cover water activities.

Additionally, the American Power Boat Racing Association has been scratched from the Lake Erie Boat Week schedule.

Janie Vogel, the event's organizer, doesn't have the funds to pay for the power boat association's race, so she had to cancel that segment of Boat Week, city officials said.

City officials, frustrated at Vogel's failure to meet other commitments and promises, said they'll decide the future of Boat Week at their Tuesday meeting.

Some insurance policies are completely worthless. Did the insurance company call Huron or was this exclusion about the boat event written in the policy?

O Really

This is the like 2nd or 3rd year this woman has not been able to pull off Ohio Boat Week....this is totally ridiculous. I am a huge boat race fan & so are a few people in my family as well....this is a huge let down for all of us that love the boat races and for the city of huron because it could bring so much revenue. Get a life and a new job Janie Vogel......YOU SUCK!
