One of this week's notes, from Bellevue Elementary School:

Bellevue Elementary School hosted its first annual kindergarten graduation ceremony May 30.

The event was well-attended and featured a PowerPoint picture presentation. Each student received a kindergarten completion certificate. They're on-pace to receive their high school diplomas by 2025.

The school's parent-teacher organization purchased graduation caps for the kindergartners. Baker Edna Miller donated two cakes, Hogues Independent Grocers Alliance donated cookies and McDonald's donated punch and cups. Music teacher Cheryl Weilnau sang at the ceremony.

Bellevue Elementary School will host an open house from 3 to 6 p.m. Aug 19.
