Port Clinton Schools offer week-long camps

Champions for Children after-school enrichment program is hosting nine one-week summer camps for children in the Port Clinton area.

Camps begin June 17 and end Aug 16, offering child care from 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. After-camp child care is available until 6 p.m. The themed camps can accommodate about 30 children and include field trips, swimming and other activities.

Board meeting rescheduled

VERMILION — The Vermilion school board canceled its special meeting yesterday. It will now take place 7 p.m. Monday.

The board is expected to discuss building operations, architectural services with Lesko Associates for its new elementary school and dates for future board workshops. Board action is possible.

The meeting is at the school’s administrative office, 1230 Beechview Drive, Vermilion.

Athletic coaches offering summer sports camps

PORT CLINTON — Port Clinton High School athletic coaches will offer children a variety of sports camps and clinics this summer.Programs include boys basketball, girls basketball, soccer, swimming and volleyball. Camps are available for most students in most grade levels. Times and dates vary.

Club to host Annual Spring Bonsai Show 

SANDUSKY — The Sandusky Bonsai Club will host its 39th annual Spring Bonsai Show. The show is 1-4 p.m. June 8-9 at the Sandusky High School Cultural Center, 2130 Hayes Ave., Sandusky. There will be demonstrations, door prizes and a plant sale. Admission is free and open to the public. 

Class of ’73 reunion to be held in August 

WILLARD — The Willard High School Class of 1973 will celebrate its 40th class reunion this summer. Festivities will take place Labor Day weekend, Aug. 30-31. On that Friday, attend the high school football game where the Class of ‘73 will be honored. Enjoy tailgating and touring the high school. On that Saturday, bring your clubs for a golf outing. Dinner is served that evening at the Willard Moose Lodge.
