A Sandusky man kicked and punched the mother of his child on Tuesday as the woman held the 6-month-old in her arms, according to a Sandusky police report.
Delon Hinton, 24, was charged with domestic violence, assault and child endangering.
The 20-year-old woman suffered cuts to her mouth, but the baby was not injured.
Several neighbors witnessed the attack, which happened at about 12:30 p.m. at Pierce and Campbell streets when the two were exchanging the child, the report said. When Hinton questioned the woman about other men, they started arguing, and Hinton shoved her to the ground, witnesses told police.
One witness told police he saw Hinton kicking and punching the woman and spitting on her once she was on the ground, the report said. Hinton fled but later arrived at the police station, where officers immediately arrested him.
Hinton told police the kick to the woman’s face was accidental. He was taken to the Erie County jail, but was released after posting bond.
