More than 12 inches of rain in a two-day period brought about the worst flooding the Nashville, Tenn., area has ever experienced, and will probably never experience again in our lifetime! Our daughter lives in Nashville and was safe from the flooding, but many neighborhoods were flooded up to the roofs of their homes. Since they were not designated as being in a flood plain, most homeowners did not have flood insurance, and will not receive any insurance compensation.

Our daughter went into one of the flooded neighborhoods to help work and clean, and she described the scene as being surreal -- everyone's possessions out by the curb and the insides of the homes being gutted down to the studs. The trees were full of toys, clothing and other articles that had been left there by the flood waters! The damage is so widespread that it will take families a long time to recover.

If you are able to, I encourage you to donate money to "Nashville Flood Relief."
