U.S. EPA head breaks promise to visit Clyde

U.S. EPA administrator Lisa Jackson has made it official: She’s not coming to Clyde to visit the families affected by the Clyde Cancer Cluster, breaking a promise she made in 2011.

In addition, EPA officials have asked the families to quit sending questions to the EPA’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., and send them instead to a regional office in Chicago.

Jackson wrote a letter in October 2011 to Warren and Wendy Brown — parents of Alexa Brown, 11, who died of cancer — saying she would visit Clyde to meet with the cancer cluster families after the EPA concluded its investigation in the matter.

In an October 2011 press release, Jackson said she would come to Clyde “next year.”

As 2012 came and went, Jackson never showed up.

She announced recently she’s stepping down as the EPA’s administrator early this year. A replacement hasn’t been named.

I'm happy with my life. Why wouldn't I be. But you can keep trying that line if it makes you happy.

The Big Dog's back

Then why are you so negative about everything?

uh oh.

goofus

A retired school teacher who lives near the clyde area, he is annoying isn't he!!! John Harville that is.

John Harville

OMG Goofass. Now you're into breaking the posting rules by thinking you can identify me? Never taught school in Clyde. Where DO you get this stuff?
No need to worry, though. Just because you're breaking several rules (you just put retired teachers 'near the Clyde area' in the crosshairs) doesn't mean Sarah will remove your posts or ban you (that's in the rules too).
But thanks, you just took the target off my back.

goofus

No problem, and I hope you weren't an english teacher because reading comprehension certainly isn't one of your strong suits. Reread my post, did I mention WHERE you taught!!! Geez, such a maroon.

John Harville

Liar. Re-read your own post. I'm still trying to discover from where I allegedly retired 'near Clyde'.

goofus

That's still NOT what I said.
MODERATOR why does my copying a word John Harville said in his second post triggered the profanity filter and his use of the word is allowed!!! Covering for the libs I see

John Harville

Goofus: "a retired schoolteacher who lives near the Clyde area".

John: "you just put a lot of retired teachers near the Clyde area in the crosshairs". Obviously, though the MODERATOR doesn't mind if the Sandusky Register allows such things.

John Harville

Goofus: ...and I'm still trying to figure out from where I retired AS A TEACHER?
Retired teachers living near the Clyde area have now been massed into a 'target' group.

John Harville

Not everything... just a lot more than most of the voices on here. And, pay close attention, no one ever responds to the facts I post. Instead, they jump on other issues and opportunities to attack the President (by any foul nickname they can imagine), Democrats, the great unwashed 'left' and most anyone else they (you?) dislike.
Not gonna yield to your effort to find my identity: just know I've lived longer than most folks on here. I've been in the workforce more than half a century, paying my 'entitlement' insurance all that time - including Medicare insurance since its inception. I've survived 13 presidents, 9 'wars' and 'police actions' - volunteered for Viet Nam (and protested against it), Reagan's 18% car loans and 14% mortgages, gone from a phone on the wall to a phone/computer in my pocket, remember gas at 26.9, ... I could go on but will just leave you with the knowledge I've experienced more than most anyone who tries to mold opinion here.
And no... I came on AFTER SB5.

goofus

Facts, funny that you don't furnish any sources of your ramblings. If you say it it must be true, a good leftist!!!!

John Harville

What sources would you like?

8ballinthesidepocket

Why would she be different from the lying A-Hole she works for? Don't blame I didn't vote for him, you did!!!

arnmcrmn

Nahhhhh......Someone under this administration lied? Say it isn't so. You mean like Obama never had been skeet shooting, but now he skeet shoots very often?

John Harville

He talked about his skeet shooting while in the Senate... it's just that he never shot anybody in the face.

looking around

LOL....where is the like button! HA HA HA

John Harville

WMDs in Iraq.
No one is going to war over the Clyde Cancer Cluster.

luvblues2

I don't believe in shooting skeets. They don't have any meat on them to take home and eat..:)

Pete

Why isn't PETS protesting outside The White House?

Yeah... why are you so unhappy, Pete?

Pete

Not unhappy at all. Thanks for playing.

John Harville

Yeah, skeets have no meat to be eaten...

John Harville

Neither do dead school children....

pavedparadise

Is anyone really surprised at EPA's decision not to show?

John Harville

Be specific in your comments... You mean the outgoing director of the EPA.
EPA has been to Clyde ad nauseum and still never really accomplished anything except publishing at least five reports saying 'nothing is found' and then being called back by powerful attorneys to 'find' something they already 'found'.

goofus

In Barry's own words, he doesn't care about the " bitter clingers" until it's election time!!

The Big Dog's back

Do you feel left out?

It’s the hypocrisy of the Federal EPA; if they cant fine someone, make money, or shut something down they are not interested. Not called the Economy Pounding Agency for nothing.

The outbreak of children with cancer was noted when, 1996? Circa 2009 the state EPA and health department identified potential sites to investigate. In 2012 the Federal EPA actually made it here to take samples. Is that correct? If so I would say that is highly inefficient; but the EPA was probably busy with more important projects like classifying spilled milk as hazardous, and studying animal flatulence impact on global warming.

Jackson is such a good little troll, while visiting Moen Corporation in 2011 the media asked her about the cancer cluster, she said she had no clue. That’s funny because everyone from comrade Brown to 19 News had been sending her letters. Should have sent them to one of her alias e-mail accounts.
