NORWALK TWP.

A motorcyclist from Norwalk was seriously injured and flown to a hospital in Toledo after a crash with an SUV Friday evening on U.S. 250.

Troopers from the Norwalk post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Christopher L. Slyker, 39, of South Linwood Street in Norwalk, was northbound on U.S. 250 near Lais Road on his BMW motorcycle at 6:35 p.m.

Stopped westbound on a private drive was Tass E. Love, age not immediately available, of West Chestnut Street, Norwalk, in a Jeep Cherokee. Troopers said Love pulled out onto U.S. 250 and  struck Slyker's motorcycle on the right side.

Slyker was taken by North Central EMS to Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, and from there flown to a hospital in Toledo.

Slyker was wearing a helmet and troopers reported Love was wearing his seat belt and "had been drinking but was not impaired." Love was cited for failing to yield from a private drive.
