I have read all the ringing endorsements for Mr. Koonce and even though I have never met the man I cannot help but admire hm for what appears to be an honest dedication for the benefit of Sandusky.

He kind of reminds me of one of my favorite speeches, "I have a dream," written by another man with vision. It is a rare occurrence when a single individual steps forward to try to do good for everyone. I wish him well.

All that being said, I feel the powers that be could have handled the auction and selling of the schools in a more professional manner. I would have thought they might have had a mininum bid at least and also I think that our award-winning newspaper might have run a front page ad for at least a week so that all our indolent or indifferent locals would have been more aware of the sales and upcoming auction!

In closing I think Mr. Westerhold was very concise in his column about the challenges Mr. Koonce will face, and his hopes that the community will get behind this effort to make something great for Sandusky.
