The State Controlling Board has released more than $1.4 million to upgrade heating, ventilation and air conditioning at Veterans Hall at the Ohio Veterans Home in Perkins Township.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs awarded a $997,100 grant for the project, with the state providing the balance of the funds.

“These funds are critical to the sustainability of Sandusky’s Vets Home and the services that it provides,” said state Rep. Dennis Murray Jr. “This facility has offered and continues to offer excellence in care to our nation’s heroes.”
