Ohio lawmakers say drivers need to keep their eyes — and their minds — on the road, rather than sending and receiving text messages.
Momentum seems to be building in the Ohio General Assembly to ban texting while driving. And two local lawmakers — Rep. Dennis Murray, D-Sandusky, and Rep. Terry Boose, R-Norwalk — say they support a crackdown.
Rep. Connie Pillich, D-Montgomery, the author of one of several bills that would ban texting by drivers, says she’s discovered that when she talks to voters about her measure, “100 percent support the bill.”
“We all know how dangerous that is,” she said.
