But it's going to be a long and dusty trail before Kristen Wells is back in the saddle again.

What: Pancake and sausage breakfast and silent auction to benefit Kristen Wells

Where: Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 151 Cline St., Norwalk.

When: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday

Cost (including beverage): $5 adults, $2.50 children 6 and younger

What: Open speed show

Where: Huron County Fairgrounds

When: 9 a.m. exhibition, 10 a.m. show Oct. 17

Cost: Entry fee $3 per class; $5 per $100 CLASS; $1 grounds fee per horse.
