BELLEVUE

A parents' worst nightmare came true for Sherri and Hobert Edwards on the evening of Aug. 17. Their daughter Julie, 16, went to the movies with two friends. Julie was seriously injured in a car crash on Portland Road in Groton Township, along with Mason McGough,16, and Logan Buchanan,17.

Julie's injuries included a fractured pelvis and tailbone, a broken nose and cut spleen and liver.

After missing about three weeks of school, Julie is back at Bellevue High School with a walker and sometimes has to leave early for doctor's appointments.

To offset some of the expenses, neighbor and close family friend Lauri Logan organized "Julie's Day," a fundraiser for the family.
