TOUSSAINT RIVER

The U.S. Coast Guard, federal and state agencies rescued two fishermen who went missing after their 10-foot john boat capsized in western Lake Erie at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

One of the fishermen notified the Coast Guard of his missing partner after he drifted to shore with his capsized boat. His partner had floated away while attempting to right the boat. At about 10:15 p.m., Carroll Township Fire Department heard the partner's call for help. The firemen found the missing fisherman and pulled him from the cold water.

They transferred him to Floro's Marina in Toussaint River and waited for EMS personnel. The man was reported to be in good condition at Magruder Hospital.
