The Norwalk post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol handled two fatal crashes late last night and early this morning.
A motorcycle crash at about 11 p.m. on Ridge Road in Willard killed Kenneth Z. Inmon, 22.
Troopers said Inmon was driving his 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Ridge Road when he failed to negotiate a curve and drove partially off the right side of the road. The motorcycle overturned and trapped him beneath it.
Firefighters freed him and he was taken to Fisher-Titus Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. He was not wearing a helmet.
Then this morning a crash on Rome Greenwich Road in Fitchville Township killed 21-year-old Joseph PL Asmus.
Asmus, a New London resident, drove off the left side of the road at about 5:30 a.m. today, overcorrected and then lost control of his 2002 Ford F-150, troopers said. The truck struck a ditch and then a tree.
He was not wearing a seat belt and suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Huron County coroner Jeff Harwood. Excessive speed is considered to be a factor in the crash, troopers said.
Both crashes remain under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
