CARROLL TWP.

Ottawa County officials are investigating an apparent homicide after two Jet Skiers found the body of a young woman floating in the water Tuesday evening at an Oak Harbor marina.

The woman's arms were bound behind her back, and her feet were tied together. Her body, found in 3 or 4 feet of water, was weighted down with two large concrete blocks, according to a news release from the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.

The jet-skiers found her at about 6:20 p.m. in an isolated area of the Lamberjack's Marina, 10221 Locust Point Road. She is described as a Caucasian woman in her late teens or early 20s, with a thin build and wearing only a white tank top and bra. She had a tattoo of a blue sunburst on her right front shoulder.

Investigators estimate she may have been in the water for one to two weeks.

Officers from the Carroll Township police and fire departments, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, and the Ottawa County coroner assisted the sheriff's office in its investigation.

The woman's body was taken to the Lucas County Coroner's Office, where an autopsy will be performed.

Anyone with information about the woman's identity is asked to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office at 419-734-4404.
