NORWALK

Wearing the trademark flannel shirt and beard, Robert Saari looked every part the lumberjack on Wednesday when he demonstrated some of his brawny skills at the Huron County Fair.

A member of the Great Lakes Timber Show, a new addition to the county fair, Saari ripped through a thick log with a chainsaw before showing off some fancy footwork. The 40-minute demonstration is offered several times each day of the fair and is filled with ax throwing, log carving and family-friendly humor. The highlight, however, has to be the log roll.
