Union workers did what needed to be done to keep the local Automotive Components Holdings plant going, and that sacrifice is paying off, two local United Auto Workers leaders say.

The local Ford-owned plant is rehiring 34 UAW workers who were on indefinite layoffs. They'll be back to work today, said Kevin Furr, president of Local 1216, and Gerard Coiffard, building chairman.
