I am writing in response to the distasteful way the Sandusky Register reported David Echelberger's suicide. I am appalled that the newspaper found it appropriate to post photos of such a devastating event for the public to view. It is certainly in bad taste to show anyone, no matter the circumstances, in a body bag being loaded into a funeral truck.
Further more, allowing the public to post comments on the website in ridiculous. The newspaper staff obviously never stopped to think about how they might feel if this would have happened to their husband, father, brother, uncle, son, or friend.
Please keep that in mind next time you report a tragedy. It's not just a story, and what you write and print affects people in real life. My condolences to the Echelberger family.
