PERKINS TWP.

Sandusky resident John Holman, 34, was the top bidder on Paul Lee, a Pomeranian-Chihuahua puppy donated to the Erie County Dog Pound last week.

On Monday, Holman paid $400 for the pooch, who will become a birthday gift to his wife, Meredith Holman.

The money will help the dog pound pay medical bills for other dogs at the facility. The Holmans own two other dogs: a Chi-weenie, which is a Dachshund-Chihuahua mix, and a Peek-A-Pom, which is a Pekingese-Pomeranian mix.

Ginny Jackson and her daughter, Krissie Cantiberry, donated Paul Lee to the dog pound for the silent donation event.
