HURON TOWNSHIP

A Huron man was flown to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center with serious injuries after crashing his car on Hull Road early today, according to the Sandusky Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Monroe Moore, 26, 6802 Darrow Road, Huron Twp., was taken by Huron EMS to Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, and flown from there to St. Vincent, troopers said.

He was driving east on Hull Road, east of Galloway Road in Huron Township, at about 2:14 a.m. today (May 2) when his 1997 Chrysler Sebring convertible left the road, striking a large rock and overturning before striking a tree, troopers said.

He was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol is considered a factor in the crash, troopers said. Assisting at the scene were Erie County Sheriff's deputies, Huron firefighters and EMS, and Perkins Towing.

The crash remains under investigation, trooper said.
