The Erie County Dog Pound has these dogs available for adoption:

Male shepherd mix, 6 months old

Available: Now.

Sam is very playful and loves squeaky toys, Dog Warden Barb Knapp said.

Female boxer mix, 4 months old

Available: Now.

She is a fun-loving, energetic pup.

Female labrador mix, 4 months old

Available: Now.

She's a very sweet, affectionate girl.

Female beagle, 2 years old

Available: 1 p.m. Thursday.

She is housebroken, friendly, gentle and affectionate.

The Erie County Dog Pound, 2900 Columbus Ave., Perkins Township, is open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10-10:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Call 419-627-7607. Adopting a dog costs $30.


The Erie County Humane Society features these cats available for adoption:

Ringer is a 1-year-old black and white boy. He loves to be petted and scratched around the ears.

Robi is a 5-year-old gray and white gal who would like to be the only cat in your house.

Tori is a 2-year-old tortoise shell gal who has lived in the shelter for a year. She has cute mitten paws. Her adoption has been paid for in the hopes she goes to a loving home soon. She is not fond of other cats.

Delaney is a very playful 7-month-old black & white kitten who was found living outside.

The Humane Society is located at 1911 Superior St., Sandusky. Adoption hours are 1-6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 1-4 p.m. Saturday. Normal adoption fees are: Cats/kittens $60, but fees are waived for cats 3 years old or older. Dogs/puppies $60. The fees include spaying/neutering and first shots if the kitten is at least 3 months old. The phone number is 419-626-6220.
