HARTLAND TOWNSHIP

A 30-year-old Wakeman man was killed Wednesday evening when he was struck by a hit-skip vehicle.

Jeremy M. Wetzel, of the 4800 block of Ohio 18, was pronounced dead at the scene by Huron County Coroner Jeff Harwood, according to the Norwalk post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Wetzel was walking on Murray Road just east of Hartland Center Road at about 8:45 p.m. when he was hit and killed by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene, troopers said.

The Norwalk post of the Patrol asked that anyone with information about the accident or anyone who may have witnessed it to call 419-668-3711.
