SANDUSKY

The local branch of the NAACP issued a statement today expressing disappointment with the city's continuing effort to keep fired police Chief Kim Nuesse from being reinstated to her job.

"The NAACP Sandusky branch is watching developments in this hearing closely and has yet to see where the claims (against Nuesse) have much merit."

The statement also provided a list of Nuesse's accomplishments, which the group contends has been ignored by city leaders.

The group will continue to monitor developments and intends to take on other issues, including the housing scandal and transparency in local government. The NAACP has established a local link, sanduskynaacp.org, where residents can go for updates on the Nuesse findings and other investigations.
