Last week, after an Erie County jury found Demetrius Keahey guilty of attempted murder and felonious assault, a judge sentenced him to 23 years in prison.
Keahey now sits in the Erie County jail, awaiting transfer to a state prison.
It won’t be his first trip — he has served prior stints on drug charges.
Sandusky police arrested Keahey last year, following a June 20, 2011, shooting in the East Oldgate Road neighborhood.
He opened fire in broad daylight on 30-year-old Prince Hampton, shooting him once in the elbow and once in the leg.

Was is worth it Perch?
I like his smile, I think he might not be smiling when he goes to prison and becomes someones girlfriend. Wipe that smile off his face.
Ouch! I hope his smile is as wide when he hits that gate at prison, although it isn't his first trip.
To get real revenge, take shooting lessons first.
LOL....I bet the guy who got shot would totally disagree. But that was great.
Agree!
He misses his man friend Leroy!
Another plea deal. This criminal has a record but will probably get out in 10 years. Then commit more crimes.
"Last week, after an Erie County jury found Demetrius Keahey guilty of attempted murder and felonious assault, a judge sentenced him to 23 years in prison".
When a jury finds someone guilty, it is not a plea deal.
LOL. @ PUNKYDUDE
Some people just don't have a brain.
Sry you are correct but he still could get out early.
Amen punkydude, your spot on
Smile Jacka$$
The Judge sentenced him. If the parole board lets him out, shame on them. One more non-productive piece of society off the streets. For now.

Cocky bastard.
(this is a test)
Other people have been sentenced to prison by judges, too, but that doesn't mean they serve the whole sentence. Didn't Shawn Caston, who was involved in that drive-by shooting, get out early? What about the thief in the Treasurer's office? Didn't Tone sentence her to 3 years but she got out early after only serving one year?
@Salvatore: I know you won't answer me but I sure would love to know who the attorney Buff is.
@4shizzle: I give it another hour and it's going to be deleted for profanity.
Wait for it...
They probably take Sundays off.
Attitude is everything. Correction...Good attitude is everything.
