Did you ever realize how easier life would be if everyone learned how to communicate? I read the newspaper daily and most of the articles all seem to have one simple theme in common, failure to communicate.

I have been following the mess in Sandusky with the former chief of police. I seem to think that a little open and honest communication could have averted this whole complicated matter.

I do believe that Chief Nuesse was doing what she was hired to do: make Sandusky a safe place to live and enjoy life. Some people just can not adapt to change, plain and simple. Had an open-door policy been used in this situation perhaps it may have turned out differently.

I am a long time employee of a very community orientated manufacturing facility. We survive by the open door policy and have done so for 42 years. While others struggle in these uncertain times, it takes a total commitment of everyone to succeed. So my advise to Sandusky is do not close that door but open it up wider.

Learn to communicate. It truly does open things up to a bright future.
