The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a winter weather advisory in effect until 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Light snow will mix with and change to freezing rain and freezing drizzle late this afternoon and early evening. The wintery mix will continue across the central lakeshore overnight possibly turning into just rain at times.

Across northwest Ohio the mixed precipitation will change to all snow as temperatures aloft cool.

Snow accumulation will be light. However some ice accumulation is possible. Untreated roads and sidewalks will be slippery. Some accumulation on trees and power lines may also occur.

Precautionary/preparedness actions

A winter weather advisory is normally issued for a variety of winter weather conditions such as light snow, sleet and freezing rain. While the weather will be significant, the word advisory implies that severe winter weather is not anticipated.

Stay tune to NOAA weather radio and other radio and TV stations for further details or updates.
