PERKINS TWP.

Fired Perkins Det. Al Jenkins took the stand today in a suppression hearing in a case involving former Concord Care nurse John Riems.

Riems is accused of sexually violating patients who were under his care. Police said Riems confessed to abusing more than 100 patients during his 22-year-long nursing career.

Riems' attorney argued that Jenkins used threats to get Riems to confess.

The hearing today is expected to determine whether that alleged confession will be used as evidence during Riems' trial.
