Norwalk man killed by grain wagon

A 67-year-old Norwalk man died Wednesday afternoon after he was run over by a grain wagon in Milan Township.

A 67-year-old Norwalk man died Wednesday afternoon after he was run over by a grain wagon in Milan Township.

Leon Smith had been trying to free the wagon, which was stuck, when it ran him over. Erie County Sheriff's deputies and Milan firefighters responded to the scene at Strecker and Kelley roads at 3 p.m.

They called for a medical helicopter to transport Smith, but he died before he could be transported to the hospital.
