Sandusky Schools supporters are asking city residents to pitch in. The cost: less than $13 a month.

The district has two issues on the Nov. 4 ballot: a $1.5 million emergency operating renewal levy (Issue 21) and a 2-mill permanent improvement replacement tax levy (Issue 22) -- both vital for the district to thrive.

For two decades, the renewal levy has cost $91.88 a year for the owner of a $100,000 home. That amount will remain unchanged.

The replacement levy will cost the same homeowner $61.25 a year if approved -- an increase of $35.38 from previous years.

Out-of-pocket expenses for both levies total $153.13 a year for the owner of a $100,000 home.
