Sub Senate Bill 184 did nothing but assure support of the Second Amendment to the Constitution.

Our country's founding fathers had the foresight to see that there was a reason to insure citizens had the right to own firearms. The Castle Doctrine ensures citizens the right to protect themselves in their homes. It doesn't give them the right to break the law.

The opinion that the Castle Doctrine will provide a loophole to criminals in ridiculous. Law abiding people will no more think of shooting someone in their home than they would have before the changes to the CHL laws came into effect Sept. 9. Law enforcement will still investigate and they will still need the same evidence of self defense as was the law prior to Sept. 9.

As usual, the Register's editorial board's opinion has an anti-gun mentality and you use your right of being journalists to promote your stance against firearms. I am a concealed carry permit holder and proud to say that I have passed all of the requirements to hold one. First of which is that I have always been a law abiding citizen that is protected by our Constitution.
