A teenager suffered fatal injuries when he rear-ended a bus carrying Seneca East students to school this morning.
The bus driver evacuated the 15 students out the front door of the bus and none were injured.
The teen who hit the No. 22 bus, Matthew J. Mason, 17, Republic, was seriously injured and airlifted to St. Vincent's Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, according to the Fremont post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. He died from his injuries.
Troopers said it appeared as though the school bus was stopped on Ohio 162 to pick up a student when Mason hit the bus. They added that glare from the sun and driver inattention may have contributed to the crash.
