If you haven't heard lately from the folks at the Erie County Election Board, there may be something wrong.
The election board's director and deputy director, who are combing through petitions on the proposed payday lending ballot issue, say they are amazed how many signatures were scrawled by people who aren't legally registered to vote.
The deadline for would-be voters to register is Oct. 6.
Forms to request an absentee ballot are available at the election board's Web site.
Voter registration forms may be downloaded from the Ohio secretary of state's office.
