Thumbs UP and a shift into high for Blue Suede Cruise, which recently concluded its seventh local installment at what's now Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk. Classic chrome is a sure-fire draw around here, and the Cruise is among the cream of the crop.

Thumbs UP for classics of another kind, as Firelands Symphony celebrates its 26th season. A typical performance mixes classics, education and humor, showing the really golden oldies can be fun.

Thumbs DOWN to the former Huron Police Department dispatcher who hopes to duck any jail time stemming from theft charges filed against him after $5,200 in city funds turned up missing. David Michel faces felony theft charges but wants prosecutors to consider a plea deal that would spare him jail time. When the bad guys get caught jail time is expected. When good guys go bad, some jail time, at least, should be demanded.

Thumbs UP for Jillian Bertsch, who even at 13 knew how to find the decisive moment and take the shot, earning with her photo of tourists at Niagara Falls a spot in Photographer's Forum Magazine's "Best of Photography 2008" compilation.

Thumbs UP for Cedar Point, once again, being named best in the world by amusement park and coaster fans.
