I’ve been skateboarding in this town for 25 years and love all of it, the good and bad. I’m at the skatepark as much as I can and am very thankful to have a place to ride outside.
Now comes this marina and no one knows what will happen to the park. We as parents and a community should open our eyes to the sports that these kids and a few adults are so passionate about. As far as I see, passion in life is a wonderful part of being alive.
I do hope that we can help the skateboard community ourselves and not let outsiders come in and take the park that kids our kids work so hard to get.
I’ve heard a lot about what the city plans to do but no one is asking the skateboarders.
Please give the kids a place to fall and a hand to get back up and try again.
