SANDUSKY

Three veterans campaigned for John McCain in Sandusky this morning, including a former Vietnam POW featured during Gov. Sarah Palin's acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention.

Palin told retired Col. Tom Moe's story about how McCain encouraged him while the two were held prisoner in Hanoi.

Moe and two other veterans -- Ed Mechenbier, also a Vietnam POW, and Leslie Smith, who lost a leg serving in Bosnia -- spoke to a crowd of about 50.

Learn more about Moe's story in Wednesday's Register.
