"You'll Be Sorry" (Reader forum, Aug. 25) wrote about her neighbor who does not cover their windows at night. If I were to cover mine at night, it would get deathly hot in the summer time. I do not have central air so I need the air to come through the windows in order to breathe.

It seems like you spent a lot of money for nothing. Might I suggest putting up a $50 blackout shade that you could have pulled down at night. That would have saved a lot of grief on your part and $6,300. If you want to quote the bible, I do believe somewhere in there is also a phrase that says forgive thy neighbor.

As far as you neighbor taking away your right to privacy and sense of security:

If anything, he has added to you security by having the light shine outside to stop would-be thieves. When it comes to privacy, I think your neighbor's privacy has been breached. How else would you know what was going on unless you were looking? Shame on you.
