I was treated very well the years I taught in Vermilion. Mr. Dewitt and Mr. Schroeder were very fair even when I had the job of negotiating. I have an ax to grind. Let's all be fair.

I really think if the board would lay out the contracts of your neighbors and see to it that your teachers received as much as they, there would be no strike. Most people think a strike is something you don't want. Strikes cause all kinds of ill feelings that don't go away. They linger for years.

The board and the administrators can do a lot of things that are not a big cost to back their teachers and make them really want to do their very best. So let's all get behind our teachers. Let's all play fair: board, administration, parents and teachers.
