A weight was lifted off Jeff Resor’s shoulders as he escaped conviction Friday on charges of murder and child endangering.
Resor is accused of shaking his girlfriend’s infant son, Donavan Lykins, so violently in February 2007 that the trauma killed him hours later. The jury, which deliberated for two days, acquitted Resor on two of the three charges he faced. A third charge of involuntary manslaughter is still pending in the case as jurors could not reach a decision of guilt or innocence.
A pretrial hearing is set for July 28 on that charge.
