(UPDATED 4:41 p.m.) U.S. 20 eastbound about a quarter mile west of the U.S. 250 intersection has reopened following a straw fire.

The driver of a trailer hauling about 30 bales of straw looked in his rear view at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday to find his haul smoking. By the time he pulled over, the back of the trailer was already engulfed in flames.

One lane of the road was closed to traffic until about 4 p.m.

Officials say drivers should still use caution in the area.
